location Rwanda is a land-locked country also known as “The land of a thousand hills” with its endless expansive lush mountains and diverse natural beauty lies on 1,270Km west of the Indian Ocean and 2,000Km east of the Atlantic literally in the heart of Africa within the Great Lakes region of Central Africa and boasts a moderate climate due to its 5 five volcanoes, 23 lakes and numerous rivers.
Although it location to the equator, the few degree below, Rwanda has always two great seasons which are made up of two wet seasons and two dry seasons. Thus, the short wet season lasts from October up to mid- November, and the main rainy season lasts mid-March to the end of May. During the dry seasons, which last from December to April and from June to the beginning of September, the North West region (volcanic area) gets sometimes foggy with a chilly temperature, that why the favorable time of visiting the region is the dry season.
